Inspiration from Crystal Valley
The WHISPERS OF THE OCEAN project was born out of our joint creative efforts and draws inspiration from the depths of the sea, its moods, and its mysteries. The energy of the collection was foreshadowed by the name of one of us, as Darja means "sea" in Persian. Darja is also the creator of the sewn models, while Kamila created the glass jewelry and accessories for the models. The theme and its design are our joint creation.
The project was realized as part of this year's Crystal Valley Week glass festival on the occasion of a multimedia fashion show under the common motto Inspiration from Crystal Valley. The show took place on Saturday, August 30, at the tram depot of the Liberec Transport Company, whose industrial environment once again provided a unique and evocative atmosphere for the fourth annual CVW. We seized the opportunity to participate in this unique event as an excellent opportunity to launch the long-awaited joint glass and fashion brand PARSI DESIGN. And it was undoubtedly the right choice! The creation of models for the show was a unique motivation to complete not only our first fashion collection, but the project also crystallized into the first joint collection of PARSI DESIGN brand jewelry, which we are currently launching on the market.
Wakame
The first of the models drew its energy from the phenomenon of seaweed. The gracefulness and variety of shapes of the seaweed stalks carried by the current are an inexhaustible source of inspiration. The name Wakame refers to a model with a clean cut and a jewel made of individual glass branches imaginatively rippling in the waves. The jewelry loosely copies the wearer's chest and plays a lively composition of unorganized glass pieces on the back in an organic play of shapes, which adds a novel chime of sounds when in motion. Wakame is a type of seaweed used as an amazing superfood, nicknamed the sea vegetable of beauty in Japanese culture and symbolizing vitality and life. These aspects of liveliness and movement are also inadvertently reflected in our model and in the jewelry inspired by them.
Wave
The Wave model represents our shared vision of the foaming sea surface and dynamic waves, which, in the form of the glass upper part of the dress, presses against the model's bust. We were extremely pleased that during the presentation of the model, our creation fit the model perfectly, as if it had been made specifically for her. The unique upper part of the model is a technological delight that literally sews glass together and once again pushes Kahan glass production far beyond the boundaries of traditional horizons. The lower part of the model playfully undulates and flows in the rhythm of imagined sea currents.
Coral Reef
The last of the triad of models is Coral Reef, designed in shades of red, which combines the clean shape of the skirt with an elastic transparent top. The dress is unified by a flood of glass corals, which are spread out in a dynamic ornament consisting of almost five hundred sewn-on individual components. There is no need to describe this model in words; its subtle, weightless purity and lightness speak for themselves. The overall impression on the catwalk was clearly enhanced by the models themselves, who presented our work beautifully, for which we are very grateful!
