Kamila Parsi

It was early September 1977, and a pair of wide-eyed babies came into the world. Those eyes belonged to me. Fourteen years later, they saw for the first time how a drop of molten glass was transformed into a specific shape under the hands of a glassmaker. And that was their fate. From that moment on, it was clear that glass and I belonged together.

After graduating from the Secondary School of Applied Arts for Glassmaking in Železný Brod, I threw myself enthusiastically into creative entrepreneurship. My enthusiasm lasted until the birth of my first child, who was soon joined by a sibling. The responsibilities of caring for my children and working in the family business separated me from my own creative path for many years.

However, in a corner of my soul and in a corner of our restless household, there was always room for a table with a glass-making burner and a shelf with glassware, which I jealously guarded and dusted off whenever I had the opportunity. I created glass miniatures of decorative pins for Danish collectors, realized designs by fellow artists, and took on small orders for wound beads and chandelier components. I created replicas of Jaroslav Brychta's figurines and other historical glass, and even produced a collection of my own jewelry and decorations.

My fortieth birthday brought me back to school, and over the next eight years I completed my university studies. In June 2025, I graduated in the same week as my daughter, and after a quarter of a century I finally picked up Ariadne's thread of creativity when I threw myself into freelance work for the second time in my life. This time, fate did not redirect my enthusiasm elsewhere. On the contrary, those twenty-five years paid off beyond all expectations, and it is my children who motivate me and selflessly support me on my old-new path.

I wish you much joy from our joint creative endeavors!

Glass and Me:

Since 1997, I have been creating my own glasswork using a blowtorch – original jewelry, unique flowers, hanging decorations, Christmas ornaments, lighting fixtures, drinking glasses, miniature pins, and replicas of historical glassware. I combine glass with other materials (metal, ceramics, wood, etc.) with an emphasis on artistic and craftsmanship quality and innovative use of traditional production techniques. I collaborate with artists and companies across various fields in the creation of chandelier components, interior accessories, glass replicas, etc. (Aldit, Crystal Caviar, Preciosa, Titania Lux, Lasvit, and others). I collaborate with museums in organizing professional courses and producing replicas of historical glass, and I collaborate with restorers. My products can be found in museum shops (Museum of Glass and Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou, Municipal Museum in Železný Brod, Museum of Bohemian Paradise in Turnov, Karel Zeman Museum in Prague, Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, and others).

In the fall of 2025, the existing glass studio Parsi Glass was rebranded and transformed into the KAMI GLASS brand, offering costume jewelry, small glass decorations, and building kits. In the summer of 2025, my daughter Darja and I founded a family design studio for the creation of original jewelry, clothing accessories, and interior decorations under the PARSI DESIGN brand.

In 2007, I founded the PARSI GLASS glass studio in Rohliny near Turnov, where a wide collection of jewelry, decorative pins, and decorations was created. The first website, e-shop, and blog were also launched.

In 2007, I did an internship at The Corning Museum of Glass in the USA, where I participated in the installation and commissioning of a historic glass-making furnace with a foot-operated bellows for an exhibition of glass botanical models by the Blaschko brothers.

From 2000 to 2002, I did an internship in Denmark, where I demonstrated glassmaking at a lamp in the Glasmenageriet Tivoli shop.

From 1997 to 2007, I ran my first glass studio, ATELIER KAMILA, in Rakousy near Turnov.
